Why do I need to provide personal information to verify disbursements through ChowNow?
Our payment processor Stripe is required by federal law to verify the identity of one person associated with your business.
This is not for accounting or tax purposes, rather this protects both you and ChowNow by ensuring that your restaurant’s information is not being used to set up a fraudulent payment processing account.
We take security seriously at ChowNow, and want to do whatever we can to provide that security to each of our clients. Feel free to read more about Stripe’s requirements here.
With the above in mind, in order to successfully deposit disbursements into your bank account we need to collect some personal details for a representative at your business. These include their Full SSN, as well as a front and back copy of their ID.
Due to how sensitive this personal information is, the following steps can only be completed by you. Follow the below instructions to complete the verification process:
- Login to your ChowNow Dashboard, click on the dropdown menu in the top left that says “Headquarters”, and choose your restaurant location. (If on a mobile device: click the icon on the top right corner of the screen).
- Once you’ve selected your location, navigate to Settings > Payment Processing and click the “Manage Stripe Account” button.
- This will bring you to the Stripe verification page, which will allow you to upload your information directly through their portal.
- Once submitted, you will be brought back to the ChowNow Dashboard. Their verification process typically only takes a few minutes, so you can refresh the Payment Processing page to confirm whether or not the verification was successful!
As always, please reach out to our team with any questions on the above.
